Guests dining on a yacht deck beside a palm-lined waterway

Florida’s Finest Yachts · An evening on the waterways

Private Sunset Cruises in Fort Lauderdale

The houses glow. The glasses catch the last light. Dinner can wait—or come with you.

A whole yacht for your group, with the evening shaped around your occasion. Start with Fort Lauderdale’s waterfront scenery and stay for the lights coming on.

Private means your group

A Fort Lauderdale sunset cruise without the shared-boat schedule

You’re not reserving seats beside strangers. You’re choosing a private charter: your guests, your conversation, your reason to get out on the water.

That might mean an anniversary dinner with no drive between courses, a birthday toast on the aft deck, or clients seeing a different side of the city. Tell us the occasion and where everyone is staying; we’ll help match the yacht, boarding arrangements and time aboard.

What makes a good evening yacht?

Start with seating everyone can enjoy together. Add a comfortable dining setup if food is part of the plan, an easy route between the deck and restroom, and an indoor space for a breezy evening.

Browse our private yacht collection for styles you like. We confirm Fort Lauderdale availability and departure details for the specific vessel before you book.

Three chapters, one evening

What you’ll see on a sunset charter

01

The late-afternoon waterfront

Begin while there’s still daylight on the palms and waterfront estates. The Intracoastal and Millionaire’s Row offer a setting worth seeing before the sky changes color.

02

The light you came for

Leave a little space in the itinerary for a toast, photographs or simply watching the sky. Fort Lauderdale is on the east coast: the sun sets toward land, not into the Atlantic horizon.

03

The city after dark

Waterfront homes and yachts take on a different character as their lights appear. On a suitable route, the New River adds downtown and Las Olas-area scenery; an ocean outing through Port Everglades is a separate route choice, not a requirement for sunset.

This is a suggested rhythm, not a fixed sightseeing circuit. The captain plans the route around the yacht, boarding point, bridge access, traffic and conditions.

Build around the light

When should a Fort Lauderdale sunset cruise start?

Choose your date before choosing a departure time. Fort Lauderdale sunsets are around 5:30 p.m. in early December and 8:15 p.m. in late June, in local time. A fixed “6 p.m. cruise” gives you a very different evening in winter and summer.

As a planning starting point, ask for boarding roughly 60–90 minutes before that day’s sunset. That leaves daylight for settling in and sightseeing before the evening’s main moment. Your confirmed itinerary will set the actual arrival and departure times. Check sunset for your date.

Three hours or four?

A three-hour request can suit a focused cruise and drinks. Four hours gives dinner, a celebration and the illuminated waterfront more breathing room. Minimum charter lengths depend on the yacht.

If swimming matters as much as sunset, say so at the start. Our Fort Lauderdale sandbar guide can help you plan a daytime swim before the evening cruise.

An evening with a little occasion

Dinner & drinks aboard your private yacht

Think about how you want to spend the evening, not just what you want on the menu. Passed bites keep guests moving between deck conversations. A seated dinner creates a natural centerpiece. A cake and a toast may be all a birthday needs.

For a dinner yacht charter in Fort Lauderdale, tell us whether you prefer catering, a private chef or a simpler food-and-drink arrangement. We’ll confirm what works on your chosen yacht, including vendor access, serving space and alcohol policies.

Private sunset cruise pricing in Fort Lauderdale

We quote the yacht and the trip, rather than selling individual sunset-cruise tickets. The vessel, date, duration, boarding arrangements and hospitality choices shape the proposal.

Ask for a clear breakdown of charter time, crew, fuel, catering, taxes, fees and gratuity terms. Our yacht charter pricing guide explains how to read a quote; request a Fort Lauderdale proposal for your actual evening.

Fort Lauderdale private sunset cruise FAQs

Is this a private charter or a shared sunset cruise?

A private charter. Your booking is for your group aboard the selected yacht, not individual tickets on a shared sightseeing boat.

Where do we board?

At the departure location confirmed for your yacht. Send us where you’re staying when you enquire so we can discuss practical options. The corporate office is not a boarding location.

Can we bring a larger group?

Yes—tell us the full guest count so we can explore an appropriately approved event yacht. Capacity, seated dining space and Fort Lauderdale availability are confirmed vessel by vessel.

Will we see the sun set over the ocean?

Fort Lauderdale faces the Atlantic to the east, while the sun sets to the west. The appeal is the changing sky over the waterfront, followed by the lights along the waterways—rather than the sun dropping into the ocean.

What should we wear?

Dress for your occasion, with comfortable yacht-appropriate footwear and a light layer for after sunset. We’ll pass along any specific onboard footwear requirements with your boarding details.

What if the weather changes?

The captain makes the safety and route decisions. Your charter agreement explains the weather, cancellation and rescheduling terms before you commit.
